Berry Antioxidant Energizing Smoothie

Top Tips

There are 10 cubes in each 300g box of Smoothie Cubes
Blueberry or raspberry flavoured yoghurt also goes well in this recipe.
Health tip – this is a high carbohydrate version of smoothie, excellent for people needing an energy boost before or after a cardio workout!
 

Ingredients

1 cup low fat milk
5 fresh mint leaves
½ cup low fat yoghurt with acidophilus
8 Creative Gourmet frozen Berry Antioxidant Smoothie Cubes
1 small banana, peeled and roughly chopped
3/4 cup crushed ice

Instructions

1. Place milk, mint, yoghurt, frozen smoothie cubes, banana and ice into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 serving glasses and serve.

Per serve: 1314kJ, protein 11.7g, total fat 4.3g (sat. fat 1.2g), cholesterol 11.7mg, carbs 53.9g, fibre 5.6g, sodium 92mg. Glycemic index estimate: low.

Would like calorie contents listed in addition to kJ. (the recipe uses cups instead of ml so why not include calories which many people can identify with?) Also, it would be more convenient for recipes to use half a box of cubes (5) instead of 8/10 cubes.
I dislike bits of food floating in my freezer.

Response from Creative Gourmet: Thanks for the suggestion. We use kJ because they are the Australian standard – if you'd like to convert to calories, simply divide kJ by - 4.1868 and round to the nearest one. We use cups instead of mls because we are mindful
that not everyone has scales handy and it is much quicker and easier to use a cup measurer. If you have 2 cubes left over you can actually make another smoothie .....
