Blackberry Crumble

Recipe Serves 6

Make and bake ahead and reheat in microwave.
Also delicious made with Creative Gourmet Blueberries, Raspberries or Mixed Berries.


Top Tips

 

Ingredients

1 x 300g pack Creative Gourmet frozen Blackberries
½ cup caster sugar
1 cup plain or plain wholemeal flour
100g butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon mixed spice

¼ cup flaked or ground almonds, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 180ºC (fan forced at 170ºC). Sprinkle frozen blackberries over base of a buttered medium ovenproof dish and sprinkle with ¼ cup caster sugar.
  2. Sift flour and spice into a bowl and rub in butter. Stir in remaining caster sugar and almonds. Sprinkle over berries and press down gently.
  3. Bake for 50 minutes or until topping is crisp and berries are bubbling around the edges. Serve warm with custard, cream or yoghurt

Variations :
Use a combination of Creative Gourmet Raspberries and rhubarb
Use Creative Gourmet Blackberries with Granny Smith apples
Add a few oats to the topping or use natural muesli
