Blueberry Chutney

Recipe Serves 7 cups

Serve with barbecued meat or chicken and roasts. Also delicious served with cold meats, poultry and cheese on sandwiches.


Top Tips

 

Ingredients

2 unpeeled Granny Smith apples
2 x 300g boxes Creative Gourmet frozen Blueberries
2 large onions, roughly chopped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 cups sultanas
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
salt and chilli powder to taste
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups wine or cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Core and finely chop apple. Place apple and all other ingredients into a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer gently over low heat, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 2 hours or until required consistency.
  2. Pour hot mixture into hot sterilised jars. Seal and label. Store in a cool dry place.
