Cherry Cookies

Recipe Serves 20 - 24

No need to give you storage hints as these will not last 5 minutes! Delicious for morning or afternoon tea and pack well into lunch boxes.


Top Tips

 

Ingredients

125g butter or margarine
1/3 cup caster sugar
2 tablespoons icing sugar
1 egg
2 cups self-raising flour
1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
20-24 Creative Gourmet frozen Pitted Cherries*
extra icing sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 180ºC (fan forced at 170ºC). Using electric beaters, cream butter and sugars together. Beat in egg. Sift in flour and nutmeg and mix to make a stiff dough (or use a food processor)
  2. Roll mixture into balls the size of a walnut and place on lightly greased baking trays. Press down the centre of each cookie with your thumb and place a cherry in the indentation. Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes or until cooked. Cool on a baking tray. Serve dusted with icing sugar.
